  • Do I need to be fit or have experience to start?
    Nope! Come as you are. BJJ meets you at your level.
  • What should I wear to my first class?
    Just come in comfortable activewear for your first class and we will sort you from there.
  • What’s the difference between gi and no-gi BJJ?
    GI uses the uniform for grips and techniques, no-GI is faster-paced and done in rashguards/shorts
  • Is BJJ safe? What about injuries?
    Yes, generally safe with proper technique and controlled partners. Injuries can happen, but safety is a top priority
  • Do you offer classes for kids/teens/adults?
    Yes, please check our programs page for more details. Our class types, age groups, and training is tailored to different stages of life and goals
  • How often should I train to see progress?
    2–3x per week is great for beginners. Show commitment and you will get results.
  • Will I get in shape doing Jiu-Jitsu?
    Absolutely—full-body workout, builds strength, cardio, flexibility, and serious mental grit.
  • Can I compete? Or is this just for self-defence and fitness?
    Global Jiu Jitsu Academy supports sport BJJ competitions, casual training, or both.
